On and off
Every board has its own switch. It is the fastest control in the product and the one to reach for first when something looks wrong.
What off means
The agent answers nothing on that board. Conversations still arrive, cards still land, your team still works normally — there is simply no automatic reply.
Flipping back on resumes from where things stand. Nothing is replayed.
When it takes effect
On the next inbound message. The policy is read fresh for every message rather than cached, so there is no interval to wait out and no stale window.
New boards inherit
A board created without an explicit setting inherits: the agent answers, using the team default profile. Boards that existed before per-board switches behave exactly as they always did. Nothing needed migrating and nothing silently changed.
The workspace-wide state is derived
There is one workspace-level state, and it is derived from the boards: it is on if any board answers, off if none do. You do not set it independently — turning your last answering board off turns the workspace off, and turning any board on turns it back on. Because that transition is significant, it is confirmed rather than silent.
Which control to use
| Situation | Control |
|---|---|
| This one conversation needs a person | Take over |
| This board should stop answering | The board switch |
| Stop everything answering | Turn every board off |
| Stop new conversations arriving at all | Pause the channel |
| This contact must never be processed | The Hidden board |
Pausing the channel and turning agents off are different: the first stops conversations landing, the second stops replies to conversations that do land.
