Getting started

Connect your number

Pair the WhatsApp number your customers already message, and confirm conversations are landing on your boards.

Calypso runs on your own WhatsApp number — the one customers already have. Connecting is the first onboarding step, and you can reconnect or change it later from Project → Channels.

Pairing

You start the connection from Boards (or from the Connect step during onboarding) and complete it on your phone. Once the pairing is accepted, the channel is linked and new conversations begin landing on your boards.

Until a channel is linked, boards render but nothing arrives — there is no inbound source yet. The channels surface says so explicitly rather than showing an empty board with no explanation.

Confirming it worked

Project → Channels is the single place that tells you the truth about the channel:

StateWhat it means
LiveConversations land on your boards.
PausedYour WhatsApp stays linked, but new conversations stop landing until you resume.
PairingThe connection has been started and is waiting on your phone.
Unlinked / droppedThere is no working connection — reconnect.
A stale paused flag never hides a connection problem: pairing, resuming, dropped and unlinked all outrank paused in the display, so "you need to reconnect" is never masked by "you paused this".

Send yourself a test message

Message the connected number from a different phone. Within moments the conversation should appear on a board — which board depends on the scoping rules in Board membership; with no scoping configured it lands on the default board.

If nothing arrives, work through Troubleshooting.

Next

  • Set up — turn an objective into boards and agents.
  • Pause and reset — stopping and restarting the channel.
